...well said superjay..wer finding out here that the 4.56's are great at the beginning of mods because it gave us a leg up from a dead start..but as wer finding out that with drag radials (in essence adding another pulley), the starts are great..but the finishes (in the 1/4) leave more to be desired...so now as wer all powering up with better mods, the need for taller gears lessen... I'm leaning towards switching to 4.10s to balance the power at the end since hp/tq will take care of the start...

Well said Superjay. "If" I knew for a fact that the tranny will stay together in 4th, I'd opted for deeper gears. Until there are better clutches available for 4th gear, I'm finally glad that I can make it down the track with my first 3.

I am glad you guys are finally getting a trans to hold together for more than a couple of passes behind all that horsepower! Awesome!

Although I am hearing that Sharadons 545/46RFE is the ticket with the diesel internals.

Guitarded bought one for his truck but I haven't heard from him about how it's doing yet..

Sorry dude!

The trans is working fine.......no issues thus far. I have removed the turbo for the winter, so I'll try to destroy it in the spring time

You can try all you like. LOL

This trans is holding great. From where we were a yr ago. It's amazing.
I talked with (my guy @)Alto yesterday. He's sending some proto type 2nd gear clutches out for us to test. I don't really see the NEED for them. But what the heck. Our stage 3 2nd gear is holding up with little to no ware,, so???

It maybe a better option for the stage 2 trans.

But once again,, We'll have to test it.
I think 08 will be a good yr for the hemi.

I'm in the process of building tranny #13 to replace good ole #12 which has been a champ with 86 passes on it and many more wot hits during tuning. Soon as Lucky 13 is done, I'll be out giving a beating to #12. I hate to do that to her, but it's all for the sake of tranny R&D.

Gee Jerry, the sacrifices you make to stay #1

Its a tough job, but someone has to do it. Right?

Like the guy that does destructive driving tests on factory Ferraris. (video is around somewhere)

Thanks Vince, but 2nd place is still a losing postition. Hopfully Lucky 13 can handle all the "cowbell" we can throw to it. lol

FrostKing's new vid of a few of his track passes, just gave me the motovation to get off my butt and finish up my new mod's. E85 only works on our trucks at idle and wot. Cruising around in closed loop part throttle, my a/f's are close to being 5 points lean. I'll be going back to using 92 octane. Sitting on the shelf right now, waiting to be installed, are my hard chrome rocker shafts and billet rocker shaft hold downs, smaller blower pulley, new camshaft, new Stage IV transmission which has additional clutches and steels in underdrive and 4th over our regular Stage III, a new experimental design change in the Stage III valve body, Auto Meter water temp gauge, Dynomax manual cutouts and maybe the 2 Stage NX no2 kit. I need to make a belt tensioner and I'm awaiting a new Edge billet 9 1/2" 3800 stall converter. This will all start happening in about 2 weeks. I'll post up some pic's and I hope that MrHemi has the time to resize them like he's done in the past. He just loves me for this. lol

Actually I'd like to see mid 11.50's. We'll see how much more the Paxton 1500 has in it before we make a decision about using the no2. For now, we'll stick with the stock rear leaf suspention. The truck transfer's a bit to hard so we'll play around with spring clamps to bring the 60' down and if that doesn't work, I'll be looking for something else.
