You guys need to post more pictures! This is boooring..... talk up your mods, show us all the little cool stuff you've done to the old girls. I want to see cool stuff, naked women, air under them bad boys, where's a picture of a mustang getting spanked? Make this exciting!

Alrighty, here's a video of my truck doing work on a sled. This was a 2nd place effort at 7200# after I won at 6200#. My then girlfriend, now wife, got there too late to get video of the win unfortunately but I still have the envelopes that my prize money was in! :D I have 5 envelopes in my collection :thumb:

Also, just for perspective, and so people unfamiliar with truck pulling can understand. That sled is just that, a sled. It slides across the ground gradually moving weight forward onto the pan and off the wheels essentially getting "heavier" on the truck by increasing friction with the ground. The sled, with weights loaded, weighs in at over 30,000#. Most sled operators have grousers on the bottom of the pan that dig into the ground a couple inches too. I had the t-case in 4lo and was in 2nd gear which is basically 1st gear for you half ton guys and it still pulled the motor down hard at the end. Still spun it out and didn't puke but i was legitimately worried right about that point lol It's quite an adrenaline rush with the crowd watching :coolsmiley:

Very impressive, every post needs to have pictures so everyone visiting is immediately impressed with the truck. This is a visual contests and you have to make people see that your truck is cool.... come on post up some more pictures.

Wow is that going to be a bars test for sure lol the rear practically jumped off the floor after the pull. Does the axle take any abuse doom that? Looks like it wraps a decent amount for sure.

It's a load, that's for sure! You should feel the frame twist from the seat! :brows: Probably why it's eaten 3 universal joints on the back end of the driveshaft  .....I've got a lead on a pair of springs from a '15 Ram 5500 along with shocks and hardware including the mounts and shackle for $400 that might help the problem out :thumb: They were taken off a new cab and chassis bound for ambulance service that they opted to put air springs on

I don't think my axle is taking the brunt of it, the u-joint is clearly the weak link when it wraps up like a burrito.....

Yes bigger springs will help if they fit I think they are wider and longer though. They too I'm sure will wrap with as much weight as your pulling lol. I still can't get over that hop at the end. That's a sure sign of something twisting up

Length is right, they are 5'0" sitting on the ground and mine are 5'3" on the truck. They lengthen some(bushing to bushing straight line) with weight. Just waiting for the seller to measure the width of the springs and the thickness of the spring pack.....I can make a modified shackle and front mount, I think, if they are in fact wider. Information like that on new '15 trucks is thin on the web....

Edit: And yes, I'll still be looking at putting bars on it at some point. Stiffer springs should help the ride height in the back while towing. Even just a 1/2 inch higher hitch height with the weight on it will be about 10' on the track. That's why the "modified" guys run suspension stops lol

Here's a couple pics of what I did stereo wise. I installed the speaker boxes as such so the seats still recline. I should probably tidy up the wire routing a bit but haven't gotten around to that yet.

and they failed to upload.....round 2

It is definitely wrapping but most of the hop is just from the sled weighing so much. The chain is short, almost a 45* angle, so it really pulls down. Making a pass the rear is almost 3" lower than the front where as sitting static it is 2" higher. That 5" of spring travel is where most of that hop comes from when I push in the clutch.

Yeah you deff need to control axle
Wrap then stick a gopro under there one pull and see what that axle and ujoint does I bet it will look scary lol. Then put some bars on there and make the same video that would be a nice sales video lol

Now that's what I'm talking about...... lol
