My 2003 quad cab's rear seat does not have headrests. Since my grandchildren frequently ride back there, I would like to add them. Does anyone know how to add them? The 2004 and up models had them. Could I just change out the seat back from a later year? Thanks for your help.

Adding them is more work than its worth the rear seat needs to be skinned and tubes for headrest bars welded in then seat fabric changed yada yada

I would say buy a 2004 back seat it's the same thing with head rests

Welcome to HTC. Yes you can simply swap out the backs. Problem is, most salvage yards won't sell "just" the back, so you may have to get the whole seat. This could benefit you in a way, because then you may have the option of getting a split back seat instead of a solid one, as most 03's have a solid one piece bottom. Just out of courisity, how old are the grand kids? Because what you are talking about doing really won't help any kids under 10 unless they are taller than average...

My 03 has split rear seat too, the fold out floor is in the garage though.

You can find 04-up rear seats on craigslist. I see them from time to time.
