Some of you have removed the clear plastic cover from your headlights and painted the chrome inside the color of your truck.

can this be done on my 2007?

If so, please give me some pointers on how to do this.

I haven't done it, but I've read some write ups on "the other forum" from guys who have done it themselves. Rancher is right, it seems pretty involved. And I've heard it's pretty easy to scratch them when you're putting them back together, too. If I ever end up with an extra set of OEM lights, I might try it myself. I'd be a little nervous without a backup set, though.

its not hard just require much patience and time...my recommendation is to take your time and be very careful and gentle...the clear lense is a nuisance to remove but not super difficult....once the cover is off its easy....if your are willing to go that far you might as well throw in some projectors.

so the red leds will shine up the entire thing instead of just the projector lense, plus i dunno there still a possibility i can go back to stock though i doubt it and as well the lights look wierd all black....i thought a bout it.

thanks to everyone.

It seems the general consensus is to buy a set already black.

I still have my OEM units so I may go ahead and try it. If it works, good. If not I will buy a set.

And wear gloves the plastic will be warm/hot but the glue really sucks it sticks and is usually really hot it's not that bad coming apart putting together just make sure your seal is good otherwise you get the lovely headlight fishbowl

I think I have seen you tube video's of this, might be worth searching for one to give you an idea.

Good luck!
