Alright just got off the phone with Al @ SC and yes they have upped the line pressures in the 3815....how much they didn't say....?????

I guess the intelligent thing would be to try it without the resistor and if not happy...try the resistor....!!!!!!

I did that, then called the tranny guy because althouhg the shifts were quicker they didn't feel that hard, he said stall converters will do that and did I use the resistor, told him no, I had SC, then he told me to run the resistor also, made a nice difference, I say put it on and never look back.

Interesting, too bad he didn't say how much it was increased by... however I believe that the DRBIII tool will show the output of the line pressure sensor. The better way to do it would be to install a gauge between the line pressure sensor and the transmission (dealership has an adapter to do this) and take an actual reading, that would let us see what the resistor is adding also. Then if you wanted a higher pressure than what Superchips increased it to you could just use a different resistor to get the desired result. Or if you didn't want to run the Superchips tune at all then you could use a different resistor to increase the pressure over what TransGo decided to use, etc. If anybody can get their hands on the line pressure adapter and a gauge it would be nice to find out some hard numbers on this stuff.

Reverse employs the highest line pressure at 250psi stock, so that would be the main one to keep an eye on. 1st gear is 160psi while 2-5 is 135psi. I think that neutral is 120psi and torque converter lockup apply is 125psi. The book says to take readings with fluid warmed up and engine at 1500rpm.

Yeah the adaptor would be a good idea...you could have an interior gauge to monitor pressures as well as temp (love gauges)...!!!!

FSTRK...you could use an adjustable resistor also mounted in cab...!!!!

Yeah a potentiometer would be handy while figuring out what resistance you need. The ultimate step with this transmission would be to put on a PCS standalone tranny controller like avsfan has. I don't know how hard it would be to integrate it with the stock PCM without taking the next step to a standalone ECU also, several complications come to mind which would probably make it nearly impossible. Calling up a PCS tech would be interesting.

Yep....there ya go....as usual..I'm barely able to keep up with the technology on here and then ZOOOOOM way over my head again.....!!!!!!

I have decided recently to keep the beast fairly tame and use it primarily as the tow vehicle for a dedicated mountain motored drag (maybe partial street) truck...like I mentioned earlier...8 second bracket...!!!!!

Much simpler...!!!!!

Yeah I have been wanting to get back into some serious drag racing and my son is reaching the age where he is really getting interested and will get his license in a few years....so the timing is perfect....!!!!

Today we recieved the Suncoast Transmission, rebuild kit. The kit contains Koleen steels with Alto clutch disc's. I seen one, thin, Raybestos clutch disc in the kit. The kit also contains a few modified hard parts as well. I'll be pulling the tranny tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Here a the new Suncoast, High Output clutches and steel's. They have a higher clutch and steel count. The clutches are from Alto and the steel's are made from Koleen. The kit comes with additional hard parts as well. Denny should be getting to it, early next week.

Nice fab job on the exhaust....!!!!! Good luck with the new tranny....!!!!
