Solar Ram, The deck heights varied from block to block. The deck heights are advertised at 9.25". On our 6.1 block, that is now at the machine shop, it measured at 9.244". We've seen deck heights up to 9.30". We will have our block squared up to a 9.24". The stock 5.7 heads flowed as such: Intake, 268 cfm @ .500" lift. Exhaust, 179 cfm @ .500" lift. The 5.7 crankshaft is cast iron. As far as the stock rod's? Can't tell you for sure. So far, guy's running turbo's, superchargers and n02, with over 500hp, haven't had any problems that I know of. The engine we are building will be balanced the way Jay dicribed. Hope this helps you out.
Brian, Thanks again for the pulley. With the three pullies we have, we now have an additional 6lb boost window to play with. Denny designed, and is building, a new mounting plate for the supercharger. We will probably have to have custom belts made for it, but it will be worth it.
For everyone else, We just recieved the main and head studs from ARP. The ATI damper and studs are now at the machine shop. As far as the heads, we ran into a slight problem, but everything should be worked out in the next few weeks. Welded Hemi is sending up a driveshaft hoop for the truck, (thanks again Bob) and I will be posting pic's up during the install. Anyone running your trucks at the strip should have one. Trust me! The high volume oil pump also came in. I finally got the rear calipers ground down to except the 16" rims with the Hoosier slicks. Not a quick process. (lol) The upside down gell cell, rear mounted battery is also installed. I still have to route the cables though. The pistons should be here by the end of the month. That's when the fun will begin. I still need to get the SMT6 and the Snow Performance W/M kit. Other than that, it's just a waiting game. Mean time, Denny is working on a 1700 hp, twin turbo, 69 Road Runner. I thought my truck was a project. You should see this thing!
