Yes it comes with a 3" in length adapter that you insert into the shaft to lengthen it. You do nothing to the box because these trucks have rack and pinion steering.

That doesn't sound right haha.....

correction it was the wrong lift the one i was looking at was the 6 inch rought country lift. is there anywhere to get after market skid plates especially for the gas tank?

I already have skid plates for the axle and transfer on the website. Haven't found one for the tank yet, but you can bet I will be looking for one....may even have to make one for them.

Skid Plates

i have a unlimited powertrain warranty with my new 08 now would it void it either putting a lift or leveling kit and bigger wheels and tires?

That one I do not know about. I would assume it falls under the Magnusom act...where they have to prove it was the part installed that caused the failure. I am holding out for a lift kit for mine, especially when the local shop tried to tell me it would cost $200 to install the leveling kit and get it realigned?

I can install it myself, but I was hoping to save myself some work...not going to do it that way, that's for sure!

By the way, I am working on putting Lift Kits and other stuff on the site right now....added the 6" Fabtech kits night.

My name is tyler and I am thinking about a levling kit and was wondering if I should get the 2.5 inch kit for a 4 wheel drive truck, or is the two inches going to level this with the back end. (I have an 07 dodge 1500 SLT big horn if that applies)

Thanks Tyler

AWESOME Write Up. Here are the before and after of my leveling kit. It is the best suspension lift you can do for the price. I went with the TGC 2.5" and love it! The truck sits perfectly level. At first it sat just mayve a 1/4" high in the front but it settled in perfectly!

Correct me if I am wrong but I have been told that it is not a very good idea to jack up the newer trucks (IFS) that high (6-7") b/c it's puts alot of stress and strain on the front end components. That's why there is not that many suspension lifts available for the 3rd Gen Rams. Also that it's not a good idea to go with tires that are over 35's. Can anyone back this up or is it a bunch of bull?

Thanks!

Actually there are several companies that make lift kits for the 06-08 models. And it doesn't hurt to run 35's. I am planning on doing a 6" lift with a 3" body lift on mine and running 37's!

Gents - I just bought a 2006 1500 Big Horn 4x4. I think it needs the front end leveled, and it seems to be a pretty popular modification. I am worried about front end geometry changes, is this a valid concern? I am thinking about a 2" lift just to bring the front up. But, wont that throw off the camber angle (cant fix that without changing spindles). I realize the toe in/out will need to be adjusted afterward. I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance here. I have read quite a bit on this board in several message strings, and some guys are having front end vibration...

It looks to me like the CV angles will be OK. Am I right?

Any suggestions on the correct lift to get would be greatly appreciated, I see that there are quite a few available.

Many thanks in advance, great forum here :)

You can install the leveling kit without much problem. Simply have it realigned afterwards. If your shop can't quite get it aligned, there are kits available on my site to compensate for that. Give me a call tomorrow if you have anymore questions.

Not really. The suspension is designed to have 3-4" of travel. But that is why I said if your shop can't get it aligned, you can purchase one of the alignment kits on my site, which gives you and additional 1-2" of alignment adjustment.

OK Duane, I think I have it nailed down to a 2" spacer. Which one do you recommend? I looked for a place to send this question on your website, but couldnt find a "contact us" area to send a message.

There looks to be quite a difference in price. Is there really a difference? Also, do I need new shocks when doing a 2" leveling kit on a 06 QC Hemi 4x4.

Get the spacer that bolts to the top of the strut so you don't have to take it apart. No new shocks, unless you want to get rid of the crappy ones from factory.

My email address is right above the flags below....3rdstrike@charter.net. I would also recommend the ones with the bolts already there, simple bolt in item.
