Yeah, I tried to clear them up in photoshop, no dice, not enough information left in the pic. If you want to shoot me the full res image in a PM I could have a better shot.

Sure you did... lol.

That flash middle made it a bit hard, but hopefully this can at least be read.

How did you do that?

. Most of the results are from brightness/contrast, but there is a whole bunch of toys in there I played with that I don't really understand, but seemed to help, lol.

Well, it took about 4 hours but I got thru 78 pages on this post! That doesn't mean I understood a lot of it but it sure was exciting to hear what you guys are capable of.
The video was awesome. I'll live my speed fantasies thru what you guys accomplish and share with us. Great job. Be safe and I'll catch the updates. old dog SW Ohio

took me almost 4 hours to read too, i REALLY enjoyed myself though, and feel like i have learned a little more!! thanks for that write up!!!

I know this is a long topic to read, but we're gonna kick it up a notch and start running the truck with E85. There's always more ways to get more horsepower out of these new Hemi's. Stay tuned.

E85??? This should be interesting! I don't recall but what gears are you using? I'm almost willing to bet that that motor in a quad cab will be faster. The extra weight will helphook up and keep that power on the ground. I'm willing to let you try with my truck!

I'm running 3.92's. My rpm is almost maxed out in the 1/4 which means I'm almost out of gear. I wonder if anyone makes 3.73's for the 4x4's?

If, and I repeat IF, ya had a trans the could reliably take full power 3rd to Fourth, and forth to fifth shifts, a 5:88 to 6:10 gear, (IF and when available), would be ideal for race only.

How do you spell full race 727 ????

Although I am hearing that Sharadons 545/46RFE is the ticket with the diesel internals.

Guitarded bought one for his truck but I haven't heard from him about how it's doing yet..

We've gone into 4th gear full throttle 3 times by mistake. So far no ill effects. But we still don't recommend it.

The things I'm about to say, have a lot of ifs, ands, and buts to them. I'm aware of that. Therefore I'm speaking in generalities.
The ideal thing for a drag vehicle, is to go through the traps, a thousand or so RPMs over peak horsepower, in HIGH gear. In the 50's, into the mid 80's, most cars had 3-speed trans, with a 4speed here and there. But, in all cases, high gear was 1:1. It was discovered early on, steep gears would make the car accelerate quicker, and harder. It's a no brainier. Get two 5 gang pulleys. Tie one to a tree limb, the other to a motor. Run a rope to the pulley in the tree, and down to the motor. Pull on rope, does the 600lb motor rise. I don't think so. Now run it around two pulleys. Pull rope. It might move a little, but will not rise. Now run it around three times. Mr. Bigwood, and a few other of our big members, might get it to lift for a second, with a fart, and a groan. Run it around 4 times. Our average member can lift it. Around 5 times, your wife can do it. Why, purely mechanical advantage. Gears. As weight increases, the need for gears increase. As weight declines, the NEED for gears decline. Of course, the amount of horsepower a motor has, comes into play. I am truly amazed at how well some of our members have done, pushing a 5,000lb brick. At some point in time, either fourth gear will have to be utilized, or the RPM limit will have to be raised. I predict, sometime in the future, there will be a automatic race trans, with infinite ratios. You will come off the line, RPM will go to 6200, and stay there till the finish line. The trans will just keep changing ratios to make it so.
