I can show you Fred. If you get a good one you'll have more then the chisel attachment to play with.

Yeah, They're pretty cool and you can use all kinds of cool attachments with them. You can use the forked bit to removes tie rods and ball joints or you could use the flat tip to use as a hammer to hammer bushings or something out. Good stuff.

Talking about NUTS, after you remove the factory fan and nut do you have to put another nut in it's place? doesn't the poly become loose? I have seen some of you guys putting a aftermarket nut in there, is it necessary ?
Another question about the E fan:
Does it have to stay running after you shut of the engine? some guys say it runs for about 3 minutes after they shut off the engine, i"m planning on installing a Mark lll and i was told they pull a steady 50 amp min, at hi speed.
I'm going to use 2 controllers one on low speed at 180 and one on Hi at 200 a single pole double trow 80 amp relay for hi and a 30 for low, they both shut down with the ignition off, i see no reason for killing the battery.
do you guys think it's a good idea?

at the most, my fan will run maybe 30-45 seconds after i turn off my engine...

I'm glad you put up the photo of your tool. I'm going to have to make one. Every other trick I've tried didn't work, and I don't have an air chisel, so I didn't try that. I'm going to need a steel bar and tempered bolts to make the tool, because I've been bending and breaking all of the bolts I've used so far. As for a screwdrive thru a hole, ain't gonna happen. My nut's on there good...

it'll cool off what's in the radiator more than normal, and it'll transfer some of that coolness to some of the engine water.
Plus, it'll cool down the engine itself by blowing air around the engine compartment for a short while.
After you shut a motor down, the temperature builds higher for a while because the internal cylinder temps are high and it is not being cooled by circulating cool water. so running the fan will cool the surface of the engine, where the heat dissipates to.
Have you ever looked at your gauge when you shut the truck off and 2 minutes later start it back up and the gauge is a little higher than before..

I just got through installing my Black magic 180 on my 2005 QC and i noticed one thing that i could not find on any of the efan topics. If you are standing directly in front of your truck looking towards your fan the nut comes off by turning it counter clockwise or to the left...took me a few times til i figured it out.

That's what I did.
