I got in the truck yesterday & my wife had taken it to soccer with my little girl. It is a 2007 1500 SLT Thunder road edition a few of you have seen it & it has a supposed 26 gallon tank. The light was on and it was at low fuel on the overhead dome. Regardless I filled it up and it was 27.004 gallons when it shut off. How do you put 27 gallons in a 26 gallon tank?

Your gas station has it's gas pump jacked. I have a local station that is always a couple cents lower then the others. Unfortunately I can put 6 gallons in a 5 gallon can. Thieves..

Not too uncommon. I put 37 gallons in my Chevy (35 gallon tank) more than once. Pretty sure the tank capacity only includes the tank, not the fill tube.

BTW, running it down to the "Low Fuel" light a bunch will cause you to need a fuel pump.

It could be possible that the manufactures tell the consumers that the tank is smaller then it really is to give a cushion for the driver or like the other guy said the gas staion you used could have the pumps messd up so that they get more money from the people.
