Why I hate dealerships

Ok as you guys know I am a master mechanic and anything automotive I pretty much know especially hemi and you know I hate stealerships so here goes

Sat came home from work mowed the lawn Becca parked across the steet to keep car clean when I finished the lawn Becca went to get car started it and holy crap thought it was on fire it smoked so bad. She just got the oil changed at 1:30 sat so first thig I did was check the oil level and to my surprise/shock it was 2-3 qts over filled yes 2-3 over unreal so this is over wi date tray jut a tad. Called dealer said bring it right back now we will fix so both Becca and I drive to the dealership I'm still in my uniform with master ASE badges on the shoulder when we get there the service manager meets us in the drive but doesn't want me to show him the overfilled dip stick but I do anyway and he's like oh its not that bad I said its bad enough and he takes car to back 20 mins later brings back out and says it was 8.5 qts drained so with the filter they didn't change again that's 9 so I was right at 2-3 over he shows me dip stick dead on now ( should have been there the first time) and he's like no damage was done at all it takes 20qts to get over the windage tray (wtf ) I said nothing what a stupid statement from him then I asked bowed they mess up an oil change its simple drain change filter refill simple steps . The response I got was I dot think he pulled all the drain plugs to get all the oil out (wtf) I again said nothing that's is BS too there's only one drain plug on every Chrysler from 86-now that I have ever seen. So I am completely confused at this time apparently this eng is huge and has hidden oil plugs all over hahaha .

So after all this I'm leaving and he asks why I'm not working for him I reponded with I don't do dealerships and never will I continuously get problem cars from them and rec papers from customers from dealers of stuff they don't need he just walked off

In all this dealerships maybe not all but haven't found one yet that are not trained bullshitters its unreal I was in my uniform and still feed total crap needless to say its good now and smoke free still anti dealer and always will be

I hate dealerships too... Took mine in a few days ago and this is what happened...

So Ive had my 2012 ram a year now and from day 1 its had a vibration that shakes the center console violently at about 70-80mph. Ive taken it to the dealer a couple times before and they've replaced 2 tires, done 3 alignments, and wheel balances.
I take it to a different dealer today cause I had some time to kill and todays outcome has me blown away.
Apparently this dealership has seen this issue before and it has gone up the chain to corporate because they had the reps out looking at multiple trucks with the same issue and came to the conclusion that its " The Characteristics of the Vehicle" and warranty will not allow them to throw parts at any more trucks to try to fix the issue.
I spoke to a tech and he said they had replaced the wheels, tires, driveshaft, rear axle, and transmission on a truck and it still had the issue.

Has anyone come across this before and is there any fixes for it?

Also hate dealerships, took my truck in to have a power steering hose replaced on my last days of the warranty. They brought the truck to me, I pulled away to run an errand a few miles down the road, guess who had a blood trail from backing into his spot...yup, me. They forgot to attach one end of the hose. Brought it back, pointed it out to them before they took it to their shop...no apology, no discount, no more business.

that's just why if and when I ever take a vehicle to the dealer I always find a way to watch while the work is being done and if I see something I don't like I quickly point it out. example the first oil change done to my Challenger the lube boy dident no what weight oil and how may Qts. was discussing it with the other lube boy when I told them and they asked are you sure ,how do you no. I told them yes I was sure it was my car but if your unsure go ask your boss and also ask him to come talk to me please. they did just that came back with the correct oil ,while they were doing there job the service manager came over to the rear of the car to talk to me and told me to please excuse the lube boys stupidity they were both fairly new employees. to witch I replied good thing I was standing here than or they would have put the wrong oil in my car. to witch the service manager just walked away shaking his head

The dealer keeps calling me for my free oil changes. All these stories is why I do it myself. Keep your free oil changes .

And to think folks avoid the quick-change places to go to the dealer! After all, the dealer knows the car best, right? When we bought the C, they tried to tell us "synthetic ONLY" and "93 ONLY".

We only go to the dealer for warranty work. While ours are under warranty, I take 'em to the same quick-change place I've used for twenty years or so. I get a receipt showing the mileage and proof it was done.

I'm right there with you all. a have many stories. the one with this truck is;
I don't know if anyone had this issue but when the 03's came out there was a Tech service bulletin out on a bad set of valve springs. Well i towed a travel trailer up to Rainbow river from Tampa for a long weekend. Well it got longer. After getting there and dropping the trailer, we were going to get food. I went to start the truck and it wouldn't stay running. Had to have it towed to Rally Dodge. They told me it was 2 broken valve springs. I asked them to change them all since I was clearly included in the unofficial recall. They said that's not how things work and if I had any more issues they would be addressed at that time. Then they got all the aluminum on the top of the engine full of greasy finger prints and said its not their job to keep the engine clean. Thankfully i never had another valve spring issue.

Another time I brought a dodge minivan we had to Brandon Dodge (the absolute worse place to get service done.) I had an appointment with them to change out a leaking AC compressor. made 2 weeks in advance. i got there they had the car for 6 hours, I never heard from them. I call at the end of the day and they said they had to order the compressor in. They would need to keep the van over the weekend. Monday at the end of day I again had to call them to see if it was done. They told me it had been done, and I can pick it up whenever I wanted. nice since they closed in 30 mins. Anyway. I get there to pickup and look inside and find rat crap everywhere inside and fuzz and foam all over. and the smell was horrible. i showed it to the service manager and he said nothing. i was getting pissed and asked what they were going to do about this. He had the nerve to ask me if I left my windows open with it in the garage at home. Remember that they have had the van for 4 days now. They didn't notice that smell or crap or fuzz all that time? I also had the integrated child sets that were chewed up. They didn't want to do anything with any of it. I told them they were going to clean and shampoo the seats before i took this and put my kinds in it. They would not replace the seats, seat belts or do anything but reluctantly did clean the van. i had no money at the time and worked for CBS radio which the dealership paid a lot of money to for advertising. my job asked if I would not make a big deal out of it for fear of them loosing the acct. and they paid to fix most of it. I will never bring anything that would make that place a dime. And go out of my way to let anyone know about that place. After that, I would go 40 miles out of my way to bring the truck to Tom Edwards Dodge in Bartow, FL for any warranty work. They know how to treat customers and do a really good job

Sorry for the rant but I do feel better now.
