interesting dealership story

So I'm up right now getting an oil change and the service writer is telling me to custom tune and delete my truck. Said that if I bring it to him they'll still warranty whatever breaks. Whole time telling me about all the benefits and what not. I feel like it's a trap, but he gave me his card and said if I do anything or need anything to bring it to him and he'll make sure that they do no PCM updates to wipe my tune and what not. Said even if the tranny blows he'll warranty it.

I wish I had gotten that in writing

SERVICE WRITER - Sounds like BS to me. Let's get someone with true authority like the owner or perhaps the service manager - and get it in writing on their letterhead .
MOST of the time dealerships are crap IMO.

I 100% agree. I feel like he wants me to do that so that they can hit me with a big *** void stamp and save some money.

Not all service writers are bad guys. I have 2 at my local dealer that also could care less what is done to the truck. Just go back to that guy only, throw him a tip every now and then, and you won't ever have to worry about your warranty.

This is also the dealer that voided my lifetime power train warranty because I missed my grace period of when I had to bring it in for inspection. I didn't get the notice that I needed to come in until after I missed it. I liked talking with this service writer, I just don't believe him on the tuning and him still covering me. No will I come back for random crap and request him? Probably

I'm just here for a PCM update and to have them get that dam factory oil filter off

You certainly have to be careful with SOME people within a dealership. Just remember that for some, it's just a job, and they couldn't care less. But for some of us, we eat, sleep, and breath Mopar. It is just a matter of getting to know the people at your dealership and who you should be dealing with.
I have people I work with that you do not want to question about anything outside of the parts catalogs, and tires... they know nothing about tires. Especially if you start asking questions about anything performance. It doesn't mean they are bad at being a parts person, as long as it just remains stock OEM parts.
