Headers and fuel lines

Good morning all.
Had a question for those that have long tube headers.
Mine are very close to the fuel lines that run along the frame.
Has anyone had any issues with this? Or is it this close only on 4X4's?
They are less then 1/4" from the header where they go up the back of the engine. Maybe some of the heat shield wrap in this area?

When you say "good amount" was it more then 1/4"? Do you remember?

I just looked under the drivers side an nothing is close but my shift linkage an that's about a inch an half way. My fuel lines seem about 3" or so

I have at least 3" clearance before they bent to go up the the fuel rail.
Then is gets real close. See pictures.

IMO, that can't be right. I don't have a 4x4, but you need to get the fuel lines away from the hot spots and shield them.

How far do you think they need to be? i would need to bend the floorboards in some to get more then 3/8" clearance. and the pipes can't go down much, the cross member is just under them.

The only other way I think would be to get longer lines to have them start that bend more past the firewall so they aren't stuck in that little space.

I use aluminum heat shielding and thermo wrap to shield my lines and don't remember them being that close. I also have my starter motor wrapped with a thermo blanket. I had a recent engine fire and was lucky I had taken the time to wrap everything up as the damage was isolated to only a couple of wiring harnesses. The plastic wire wrap we all like so much burns like gasoline.

Where do you get it from? Do you remember the supplier?
Thanks for the tip also. I remember back in the old days I had a really bad issue with header heat on my GTO. The tubes went around the starter on top and bottom. If I drove it more then 45 mins. I would need to let it sit for an hour to cool down enough to start again. Finally had a heat shield made for it that helped but didn't fix the problem.
