That depends on your mods and how deep your pockets are. Most likely your truck will hold more resale value keeping the original 545rfe. The verdict is still out on the ATS upgrade trans. Mark has one installed, but he hasn't had a lot of time to evaluate it. A couple of us are using 46rh. I've beat on mine for over a year and I like it. Read Keith's thread and it will explain what he did. Good luck.

There's at least 1 1500 running around with a T56 6 speed manual transmission The possibilities are virtually endless depending on the depth of your pockets

It's an older truck 03 to be exact so possibilities are limited lol. But it's not a race truck like some of u guys have I wish I could build one but I know that gets pricy. As for build its has it bored 40 over inertia performance big valve heads and a nitro spartan cam. Rear end is a Detroit locker put in by Keith thank you btw. And then the standard intake headers exhaust injectors Diablo tuner ect....

Keith, should be able to show you his 46rh. Sounds to me that would work for you.

I second that. If you just want simple and reliable and Keith has worked on your truck before the 46RH is probably the winner. I think Keith has a waiting list going on builds/installs so it might take him some time if you're not comfortable doing one yourself
