You can get a AC system cleaner at Pep Boys. It is a foam that you spray into the AC inlet with the AC on. It removes the odor from the heating and ac system.

I have also heard the charcoal left sitting in the car works. Someone told me they did it in a used car they bought. Poured the charcoal into 4 brown grocery paper sacks. Sat one on the floor in front of each seat about half full of charcoal, with the bag rolled down. Then left the car like that for a day or two. Then steamcleaned the whole interior and wiped it all down with vinegar water mix. No more smell.

this works great, try it.

get yourself a couple pie pans or deep plastic or styro plates. put about 1/2 cup of baking soda in one, and put about 1/2 cup vinegar in the other. set them on the floorboard , one on each side (preferably in the back )

let sit overnight

the next morning fire up the truck and run with the A/C on High for about 15 min. with the windows closed.

should take care of it. and it doesnt come back

The filter goes under the cowl. You can order them on the web. Some clam to be HEPA certified.
