What do you think of wraps?

I was thinking of doing some body work and maybe having my truck wrapped instead of painting? Does anyone have their truck wrapped? Anyone know around what it cost? I'm hoping it's cheaper than a paint job since I've heard wraps are generally good for five years or so?.

This will be interesting. I've seen a couple cars that have been wrapped. Seemed generally good.

it's a good way to get real intricate cheaply, one benefit of a wrap is, if you don't like it, or grow real tired of it fast, it's easier to change than a paint job.

I've been thinking about ripped add-on's. Maybe something like 6 spots over all. Don't know if I'll like it. Will be easy enough to strip off if I don't...

Just remember even a good quality vinyl is only good for 5-6 years. Thats what I was told by one of the best shops in Austin.

So the day after I posted this I'm on the road and a completely wrapped 3rd gen ram drives by. His was all orange with matte black. He had his advertisement on the back window but I couldn't read the whole thing. It said something like wrap your car or truck. I really wanted to go the plasti dip route but I don't think it'll hold up for long. All my emblems and my grill have been plasti dipped and they haven't held up to good in the Florida sun.

If I can get the whole truck wrapped for under $2000 I'll probably try it. Been thinking of going cement gray or something like the newer gray/blue ram but matte.
