So i have tried to disable the seat belt chime so i can drive(off road) and not here the chiming noise but the steps that are in my manual are not working for me. I have done this same process for my dad in his 07' Ram and it worked first time but i have tried multiple times and have not been able to disable the seat belt chime in my 04' Ram. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Well call this the poor man's way of doing it but a buddy of mine who is an avid offroader went out and got an extra seat belt buckle (male end) and just installs that rather then mess with anything electronically. Any junk yards in your area? Although this is on a Toyota tacoma, but I imagine the principle should be the same.

I had trouble disabling mine too and stopped the dealership and ask them to do it for me. It wasn't a problem.

The owners manual says:

Quote:
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be enabled
or disabled by your authorized dealer or by
following these steps:
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend
deactivating the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert).
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and
buckle the driverís seat belt.
2. Start the engine and wait for the Seat Belt Warning
Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driverís seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt
buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to
signify that you have successfully completed the programming.
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.
NOTE: Although the EnhancedWarning System (BeltAlert)
has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning Light
will continue to illuminate while the driverís seat belt
remains unbuckled.
Don't know why it didn't work.

Since the drivers and center seat buckle are right next to each other, I just inserted the center seat belt into my drivers side buckle and left it in, and kinda repositioned them to where the center seat one is on my side. It's backwards to unbuckle, but after a couple of times I'm used to it.
