rear window

I've got an 05 4x4 QC with a fixed rear window and was wondering if anyone has tried or even attempted to put the power rear window in that came with the factory options. I like the idea of putting options that came from the factory in that aren't currently there.

Haven't heard of anyone doing it but it shouldn't be a problem. I'm guessing the wiring is already there as part of the regular harness. Window, motor and switch should be about all you need...and a lot of money.

I replaced my rear window. I did not use the OEM window, I used the one by CRL.
It worked like a charm and is still holding up great.

Here is the post.

Thanks for the link Doug, boy they don't give those away. They look nice and come with a warranty. I was hoping for more of a "wrecked truck" kind of retrofit. Their lose being my gain. I'll just have to keep my ear to the ground and see if one pops up. I guess I should check to see if it was even an option for 05.

To be honest. I would have never spent that mutch on just an window upgrade. What happened was that I broke my back window and got a 500 dollar check from my insurance company. Instead of a giving the money to the auto glass company or the dealer, I bought the power slider and did most of it myself.
Total out of pocket expense was only about $100.00.
I have to say that I absolutely love the thing, and my next truck will have one for sure.

The power rear windows on the 06-07s don't fit the 02-05 trucks. The newer windows are slightly larger in shape. They have different part #s for the regular windows from these years also. A guy on dodgetalk tried to make it work and it didn't fit. He bought the power slider cheap off ebay.

Even on EBAY I have never seen one under $500 dollars.

Post a link if you see one please.
