painting CAI

Well, time has come to paint the CAI. The polished aluminum is just too hard to keep shiny.... so Pearl Black it will be....

Waiting another 45mins or so before applying clear, but here is the progress so far.

Removed AEM Brute force sticker, CARB sticker, adhesive remover to get the remaining sticky off, 800 grit to scuff up aluminum, primer coat x2, and 4 light coats of Dodge PXR.

So far so good...

After 4 coats of Clear, and installed, all done. Hard to see the metal flake, but its there.

Looks good Phil,.. I have been thinking about doing mine,.. just haven't set on a color yet,.. Everytime I open my hood,.. I look and just stare...

ive been wanting to do mine too, cool pics btw. i have a 4 inch homebrew setup thats polished aluminum pipes. im not much for bling so i was thinking of painting it.

That's one reason I offer them powdercoated, the aluminum tarnishes after a while....
