LED interior/exterior lights - any luck with them?

I thought I bought some decent ones, and they worked fine, but lasted only 4 mos.
Then they started to strobe, and now they don't come on when the door is opened.
The festoons in the map light near the windshield are the culprits.
also put 2 in the location for the license tag light, and now 1 of them is strobing/blinking.
Is it the brand or just or electrical systems??
why do they work at first real nice then peter out? any comments

I have had them in my back-ups and reverse lights for quite a while and have had no issues. I just put Oracle LED's in my interior lights about a month or so ago and no issues with them either plus they have a lifetime warranty. Might be the brand.

I ran LED's on my 04 for four years without any problems. Well almost... The first ones I bought came from eBay and didn't last. I started ordering from Owl lighting and never had to replace any of theirs....some of which I removed from my 04 and reinstalled on my 08. Still working fine.
I guess my answer would be cheap, at least in quality brand. Sorry Julian.

I spoke to a guy at a car show that makes them. He said that some of the ones out there are not made to deal with vibration. They are taking the ones that are meant for home electronics and stuff and using them in cars.

I went to the Owl site and couldn't find the individual led's..
Oracle's 578 looks like the map light bulb, I'll have to give that one a try if it's the right one.
automotive light store has them.

Send a PM to TxRumbles. He had some at the GTG in Pittsburgh last month. He sells them but I don't know the brand.

Call Owl and ask for Freddy...my cousin. Tell him what your problem/application is and see if he can help you out.
