Interior light problems

MY 2004 Dodge ram 1500 quad cab's interior light will not come on when the door is opened. I have checked the wiring in the door, the rubber boot that hinges when the door opens and have found no broken wires. I'm just wondering if the door lock actuator has a door ajar switch that could be stuck tricking the instrument cluster into thinking the door is closed? I know the instrument cluster controls the interior light through a grounding of the cluster somehow. Any help would be appreciated.
