Hood paint

As anyone with a 4th gen done any painting on their hood? I'm looking at painting the raised center section of the hood. Any thoughts?

Ordered my grill surround and it came in this morning...wrong one. The right one should be in tomorrow. Had to get rid of some of the chrome....

I know you would paint it black. That's what everyone is doing. You know me...I have to be different. With the brown and tan interior I'm thinking a sand color. Actually after I talked to my painter I got to thinking about a piece of vinyl that way I could play with different colors. I may go check with the sign shop next week and see what I can come up with. If it isn't real expensive I might get a couple of different colors to lay up there and see which one looks the best. Sure would help me pick a paint color later.

I've seen one or two sport hoods painted black. I think they look pretty good. I think a regular hood would look nice, too...especially in a color other than black that compliments the truck.

Thanks guys for the input. I have a crew here cutting down trees today so it may be next week before I get to the sign shop. My grill should be done by then too. With all the cleanup I'm going to be doing, get get ready for family coming for Easter I'll be meeting myself coming and going.
