Heater duct control

I have aquestion regaurding my heater duct control knob. When I kick mine to dfrost it will work on low fan settings but when I turn up the fan to high it slams the doors shut and directs the flow to the floor.
Anyone know how to fix this issue.
Anyone else had this happen?
Thanks for any help

It almost sounds like your gates that direct the air from one duct to the other aren't switching over all the way. So when you turn up yout fan it blows them shut to the defroster and back to the floor. You may want to have the stealership check it out under warranty.

Unfortuantely my waranty is up by 3000 miles!!

I ahev searched the diesel sites and this is a very common problem on that site.

The 03's are supposed to have a recall or something but I am not sure about the hemi trucks.

I don't know if this addresses your problem, but there is a TSB for the 2003 Ram defrost door.

I wish I had know this. Mine started this during the spring and @ 116,000 mile that's one TSB that I'll have to come out of pocket for. And leave it to Dave to find all the good info - You are the Man!

Hmm I am not sure if this is going to help or not, but worth a try or I am not sure if this is the same as the link above.

Since you have no defrost on high at all, why not check the blower motor or how about the resister switch that controls the current of air.
You can test to see if there is voltage coming to it, weather or not it is working correctly.

If it is not working on speeds other than low and med (aka the only one left is High lol) check the wiring from the motor to the switch.
Or do we have a vacuam leak???

I hope I made sense here
