So my 03 dash has multiple cracks over/through it & I'm contemplating my options.

1. New dash from the dealer ship. It changes from a one piece to an updated multiple pieces. Probably will run in the 500-700 + labor (ill probably do it myself though).

2. Order one of those plastic molded dash covers, that I "THINK" you pretty much just snap on and silicone it down to your existing dash. Probably will run me about $200

My question is has anyone used/purchased one of thosed molded cash "Caps" and installed one? Would like to know what you thought of it.

That's why I try to keep a dash mat on mine except for shows. A $17 purchase saves a lot of dollars in the long run.

The DashMat is the only way to go IMHO - put it on the day you buy your new truck or after you've finished the repairs .

Mine just got its first crack in it about a month or so ago. Now another one has just shown up also. I keep mine cleaned and put up my sunshield all the time but still happened. It is a 2003 and from what i hear is that Dodge was know for that. Am thinking about one of those overlays also so if anyone has something to say about them please let us know. Thanks

My folks used one on an 84 mustang once. The color and fit was a little off. You could tell it was a cap, but hid the cracks. This was early 90's, so they may have gotten better.
