Wheel Liners

I ran into a guy a while back that had bought a set of Metal front wheel liners that was mainly the sole purpose of protecting the motor for his 4th Gen 1500. I have looked all the the interweb and cannot find anything of metal , all I am finding are plastics. I would like to see where these are available thru before I take on and make my own. Anyone seen or heard of these?

Personally I don't like metal liners. I have them on my 1st Gen and when I come off of a gravel parking lot it'll throw pebbles stuck in the tires. Sounds like a shot...

Metal liners will add weight up front as well. Plastic will do the job just fine.

I have plastic fore and aft. I would think with rock dings and so forth, metal would rust away over time.
