Been looking at solid roll up and tri-folds to put on the truck lately, but like a kid in a candy store I'm having a hard time picking out just one.

Seeking reviews from current owners of both styles, how are they fairing with water sealing, corrosion resistance, overall quality etc. Gun (credit card) is loaded, just skeptical on pulling the trigger.

I had a snuglid on my previous truck. Very low profile and color matched. Did not leak a bit of water. Even in heavy down pours. Kinda pricey. It was around 900 bucks but that was about 7 years ago. Very high quality product.

Yeah I had an undercover on my 07 that I loved but it was a PITA sometimes taking it on and off. And witg tge 4th gens now I'm curious how rigid collapsable covers have performed in the past 3 years.

They are pricey but hard to beat. ReTrax Pro...
All aluminum roll up, lockable, pretty dry. Anything that isn't against the tailgate is not going to get wet. A little seepage around the tailgate but not enough for me to mess with. No road noise but on really rough roads you can hear a little chatter if you listen for it. The rollers that carry the load have a little space in the track.

Yeah seeing a lot of complaints against roll ups not being water proof but wondered if it was installation error or what. Guess I can't have my cake and eat it too

I run a truxedo low pro on my 2011, it's a soft roll up cover. leaks a little water at the bed corners near the cab-probably because i didn't use any of the included rubber seals. It has velcro on the sides. Tailgate must be down to unlatch the cover. i like it because it fits in between the bed rails-not on top and has a low, sleek look to it.

*edit* missed the bold solid part of your post disregard the above

I doubt that any cover is going to be totally water proof. Some "moisture" is going to get in around the tailgate unless you can really seal it up. The way the tailgate cap is designed you just can't make it water proof. There is so little that gets in it hasn't been an issue...even in some hard driving rains.

Got spoiled by my undercover on my 07, that thing was absolutely perfect for keeping things dry, just bulky and awkward to remove by myself plus storage. Chances are I'm going to get a retrax or something of the like, but at least I know not to chase my tail trying to get a perfect seal.

I ordered the Fold A Cover quad fold tonneau. I had one on my 2007 Ram and it was the best solution I had tried yet. Unfortunately that cover did not fit the 2012 Express even though both truck had the 6.4 bed. The 4th Gens are actually 3 inches narrower at the bed rain.
This cover is very convenient with dual locks and can be opened from the front and rear. I liked it enough to order another one for the new truck. The one on the 07 still looked new and functioned perfectly.
Reasonably water tight and very secure, solid finish. TruckAddOns had the best price when I bought this last weekend.
