Rear View mirror/Radar detector

Can I get 12 volts from the wiring in the rear view mirror to power my Radar Detector..

You certainly should be able to...I'm running my escort that way on my '05. There are neat aftermarket short wiring kits available with blade adapters that easily plug into the rear mirror connections for a clean installation. Also there are 'mirror post' mounts for your detector that will clean things up and eliminate the suction cup crap that will eventually fall off...

Thanks for your reply.

I have gotten replies on another forum telling me to not add on to an existing circuit because the computer in these new trucks will get upset.

I guess I need to fill in my Signature. Truck is a 2017 2500 6.4 Hemi

Not completely certain about the Gen 4 Rams but I don't see why it would not work equally as well as it does on my Gen 3 - '05. The mirror configuration cannot be all that different...use a volt meter to check output options...on my '05 it uses the last two options (pointing towards the passenger side). Your detector uses virtually no power and shouldn't be a drain on the system. Let us know how it works out .

The detector is to small to cause an issue you should be fine.
