Questions about 2011 hemi high mileage

Hey everyone. I'm looking at a 2011 Ram sport edition. It has 243XXXkm's and I was wondering if anyone could help fill me in on any common issues I should look for or be aware of for these engines.

Is it a bad idea to buy a hemi with that much mileage or do they hold up pretty good over time.

Thanks for any advice I'm pretty New to Hemi's and I've never owned one before.

That's about 151k miles, many last longer than that by a lot. There weren't many issues in 2011 basically all fluke deals if something went wrong. It all comes down to maintenance, if it was kept up right it has a ton of life left in it.

IMO, maintenance is everything., if done properly it'll be in a lot better condition then if it hadn't been kept up. What does its history look like? And of course it comes down to money..

I have one contractor with an 08 2500 5.7. 4x4 that comes to my work he has 310k miles.. well maintained truck his only complaint has been little issues, interior stuff breaking and rattle. Had a starter issue back around 250k I never asked what it was.
The other guy with a high mileage 5.7 has a 2010 35004x2 with 235k he had a lifter issue, @225k one of the rollers seized and wiped the cam.
I have a 2009 5.7 engine that had 250k on it when pulled, internally it looks great, cylinder taper is less then.006 it was pulled because the owner was swapping over to a Cummins drive line.
As long as it's taken care of I wouldn't fear a high mileage hemis truck

Fwiw the transmission is almost guaranteed to give up way before the engine.

Like ric3xrt said the 09+ hemis have had problems with lifters failing an wiping out cams. Quite a few stories of it on the lx side @60k-80k miles

Ensure that the brake pads are new, and the rotors are good, have all of the hoses, the serpentine belt and spark plugs & coil wires replaced. Make sure it has no leaks of any kind (I should repeat that.), and that the oil & filter and the transmission filters (there are two of them) and fluid are new. Make sure that you have a clean air filter and throttle body because those two items alone will cost you power and gas mileage. Check all fluid levels, especially the brake and power steering. Ensure that the radiator has been flushed and refilled with the proper coolant level and distilled water and do a compression check on every cylinder. Tires and battery are optional, and no one cares if some of the lights don't work except for the police.
