I hope this does not happen to mine... It did happen to my 07 1500, which is part of the reason I traded it for my MOOSE!!

Which trans, auto or manual? What was the failure? Still covered under warranty isn't it?

13,900 miles on the truck and it is under warranty and its a auto. Gave it gas to take off from a light and the rpm went up and the truck didn't move until I felt a thump when it went in 3rd gear. Dropped it off at the dealer and they found high levels of clutch material in the fluid, after dropping the pan metal shavings were found. After tearing the transmission apart the mechanic said it was unrepairable and ordered a new one. Dealer called today and said parts "should" be in today and it "may" be ready tomorrow.

Got it back Friday afternoon and it drives better than it ever has and seems like it has a gear I never noticed before. Only problem is it has lost reverse while backing up once. I've put 260 miles on it so far and will see how it goes.

In the shop again with more trans problems. May break down and buy another diesel Tuesday.
