Exclamation It's come and almost gone now.

Hi all. - Me again - Long time no see..I'm back to my roots..

Now, There comes a day, when it's time to say goodbye.
The old Yeller Rumbler wanna Bee is getting cranky.

250k on my old pride and joy, with no engine or tranny problems to date, must have been lucky.
But - Now I have a have a problem or 2 developing.
I have changed the TPS, and CPS, and now looking at the the fuel pump to be replaced.
This is where, for the first time, I'm seeing more dollars needing to be shed, - even though I have a degree in shade tree technology.

I work on the beach here in SE. Fla. building nice homes, and in the last 7 years I've been there, the salt air has stricken my Solar Ram with stage 5 cancer. It's a mess, hit a bump, shed a little weight here and there.
LOL---
So now, I'm in the market for a good used Hemi Truck. Used, cause it's gonna be a beach baby for a while to come.

I have no idea how these newer Rams are behaving. Are they the same old Dodge - middle of the road quality ? fix it/upgrade it before, and not after.

Can anyone say which of the last few years have a better mechanical history?
I'm just looking for what I had before. - somewhat -
small cab, short bed - modifiable! hemi power - nothing fancy inside - no fancy tech -

I'll do the fixins'
anyone care to devulge?

I'd aim for a 2009-2014, after 14 the PCM need to be unlocked, other than that it's about the same truck as the Bee except faster..

PCM's always seemed to be a pain in the ***.
Any insight into a 2019? Seems I may have a decent deal for one.
Reg.cab 2w.d. model

You said it needs to be unlocked. Care to elaborate on the procedure.
Is this a dealer unlock or a programmer?

Programmer needed to unlock the PCM, not that big of a deal.
I think the 8sp came out in 14 not sure I know it was an option on the 2014 R/T I looked at back when New., I now the 545 was still in the 09/10s then the 65 trans was 2011/12 I think that was the change over ,

If you can get the 19 at a good price I'd buy it.

I assume by your comment, that the 2019 r.c. model seems to have no inherent deficiencies. That is welcome news.
Here's a couple of pics of my shade tree taken yesterday.

They haven’t released any regular cab trucks in the new 5th gen style, I think production may have ended on regular cabs for Rams. Apparently they don’t sell enough except for fleet vehicles.

so whats the plan for the ole Bee?

best thing to do on the 19 is go to the dealer and find out what you can order.
