Hey Guys,

I just purchased a double 3500 Lb axle car trailer and it has electric brakes. I would like to be able to install the OEM Trailer Brake Controller for my 2009 Ram 1500, but the research online has me all confused! What I am finding out is that you can't install the factory trailer brakes on a 2009 Ram 1500 ?!? I even called my Local Dodge Dealership and with running my VIN they said that I could not add the factory Trailer Brake controller !?!

I wouldn't mind an aftermarket brake controller, as I do have the BLUE plug under the dash for it but I prefer the Factory Look and also I want it to be in the location it would be in from the factory instead of hanging down under the dash!

Any suggestions !?!?!?

Hhmmm....I've got a 2011 and had a factory controller installed. On the left side of the steering wheel, below the headlight switch was a cubby hole. That's where it went.
