I asked salesman at local dealership how to get 25 mpg,,he said the add is misleading it is the 6 cyl Ram not the 5.7 that can get 25. I watched more closely the adds and they show a hemi but at the saying of 25 mpg look quickly it is a ram but no hemi badge and picture last only a split second. I averar 19.7 on the road and 14.5 around town.

gas mileage

I stopped worrying about the gas mileage on my truck when I retired. I just don't put the miles on my truck as I did on my trucks in the past. And I knew that a HEMI wasn't going to provide me with money saving MPG. Regardless of what the advertisement say. I know what I'm driving when I step on it and hear the exhaust and feel the acceleration as she takes off like a 2-door-Hard Top ! Now, THAT feels good! But if I drive it that way too much, I know I'm headed to the pumps shortly. All in all my fellow HEMI lovers, I don't believe you can get 25 mpg from a 5.7 ltr HEMI V8. Could be wrong, but I don't think the average driver, driving normally could accomplish that. If you guys love your trucks as much as I love my RAM/HEMI, I know you understand what I'm saying. I Love this Truck, I Love this Engine, I Put up with the less than 25 mpg.

Just got 18.9 average on a 3k mile trip, combination of hiway(cruise) and mountains and some town driving. Normally get about 14-15 in town but I have at times, proven to myself that I can get 8-9 mpg, depending on my driving style(O.K.---like a 16 year old). Damn that Magnaflow sounds good---LOL

Magnaflows

Jay, I had a Magnaflow on my 2010 Ram but the damn thing created a drone sound on the hwy. (But sounded great in the parking lot) To tell you the truth, I chose to keep the factory dual sound rather than have that again. And this new 500 watt Sub Woofer system that the new ones have allow me to crank up some fine sounds that are pure heaven to this old man... Nothing like Bonnie Rait singing "Lets give them something to talk about!" booming up against the door panels.. But to each his own and that in my opinion is why we all ad our personal touches to our HEMIs.
Personal pride! I love looking at your rides and how each one of you makes
the changes that you do. And by the way, there is nothing like being 16 once in awhile. I think that's why we're all driving HEMI's and not Fiat 500s! So enjoy that ride Amigo! The whole world should have RAM Fever !
