mine automatically resize without any extra steps prior to uploading

Automatically is the way it should be done. Can you tell me what browser you are using and where on the site you are trying to upload to?

it does not matter where I try to post a picture it tells me my pictures are too big and I have to resize them every time...just use the paperclip and try to upload a picture it tells you how big it can be but it does not resize the image I have to resize it myself.

Are you using a phone to post them? Or the computer? If it's a phone open the like you want to edit it and crop it down just a touch like trim the edge then it will save it small enough for use. Mine does it sometimes where it takes HDD pictures.

I take pictures at the highest quality.the website ought to be able to reduce the images to fit the parameters automatically.it does not matter whether I use phone, tablet, or PC. The same message appears, "the image has exceeded the maximum size".
