Nitrous virgin needs help!!!

My wife gave me the green light to get a nitrous kit. I am looking at a 150 wet shot with a fogger. My understanding is that with that would not nrrd a tune, and wouldnt hurt my engine. I need as much input as possible cuz I have no idea. Do I need a purge, do I need a bottle heater? Where should I mount it. Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about nitrous but I would say the bed would be your safest mounting location.

Ok first off nitrous will require a timing pull at least for safety sake. Mounting location suggested in bed because in cab will need a blow down tube for most any track esp an event. Won't need a bottle heater a small torch works fine for that unless it's winter time lol. I would deff get a purge kit helps make sure nitrous is in lines a small puff is all that's needed unlike 90% of people out there purging for 5-10 secs waisting spray lol. 150 is about all I would do for safety and longevity of the stock eng

You should get a DS tuner so you can pull your timing before you shoot any spray. Then pull 2 degrees for a 75 shot, 4 for 100, 5 for 125, 6 for 150. I would suggest a custom tune for the 125 + 150 to get the most out of your engine. Run only premium or race fuel. I use race fuel in a separate 1 gal. fuel cell and re-fill it after each run. I have Sebring Raceway here in town and pay $10.50 for 112 octane. More octane = more cooling in the engine. That's the basics.

Search the web and not just speed shops for the kits. Drop me a PM with your number and I can call you and answer any questions and possibly save you some money.

Stay away from the Zex nitrous kits as you can't jet it over 125 because that is all their solenoids will allow.

Later you might consider a Cry02 system which would enhance the cooling effect and let you advance your timing safely.

Have Fun Spraying !!!
