Anyone use octane booster?!?!

Just wanted to know your opinions on the issue. I was thinking about using it, much cheaper than paying 6 bucks per gallon of racing fuel.

There are a few out there that I see people mix with race gas, but they arn't cheap. Lopers should have something like that.

Lonnie, (05whitehemi) suggested using the NOS branded 100 octane booster. I used it a couple of times and it burns reall good and I do see a bit of a difference in MPG.

I bought the NOS one. It raises your fuel by 6 octane values and 60 points. So a 91 octane would now be a 97. It was 10.99 and its good for 16 gallons. I think its better than spending close to 6 bucks or so per gal of race fuel.

If your gonna use n20 you Should to use higher oct and Vp, Nos octane booster are the best I could find. As far as race gas I only used 2 gal at the track for one entire day and its the better option. This message has been edited. I had good luck with the NOS Race formula (w/ MMT) and 93 pump gas spraying 150. The only downside was the red spark plugs from the manganese kind of freaked me out until I realized what it was.

I worked a few trade shows last week and talked to the Lucas guy. Apparently, they have a booster that's supposed to be pretty good, too, with MMT.

Another alternative is 100LL from a local airstrip. The last time I filled up at one it was only $3.85/gallon. I don't have cats, but I have run 100LL in vehicles with converters and never had a problem.

Cool...thanks for the info man. I am running cats, so the airport fuel is not much of an option. I have not had any problem with the NOS brand. I sprayed 125 shot and I was very happy with the performance of it and I had no detonation either.
