What about an 08 PCM swap?

Thoughts ,Pro's? con's ? I've read a few times that the transmission tuning is better than the 05 ?
Is the 08 that much different ? just trying to think outside the limited option box.

I believe 08 was the first year using canbus. It is the last year using a 32 tooth reluctor wheel. But havent looked into it.

Would say you need to talk to a cmr tuner to see if they have the same tuning capabilities as an 05 pcm. Nobody has said anything bad about the 08 pcm.

I was just thinking about it more in terms of having a better handle on 545 trans tuning.
Stu I'm not sure how to explain the Canbus now Cannabis

Dont try to light this one up.
Control Area Bus, it's sharing information on a twisted wire pair. I "think" 08 they expanded the use of can-bus making the 08 pcm transitional with the changes that came in 09+.

The 2007+ when it comes to tuning is 1 file where as pre 2007 it's two files. Does allow more control to a point and also is same amount of work so tuning most times is still separate charges. I'm not sure a 2008 computer will work in say a 2003-5 swap type setup.

I would think that an 08 should have better tuning all the way around. Trans & engine. But, there hasn't been much talk about the 08 pcm? Maybe Keith or Jay Greene can shed some light on the subject?

Pretty sure canbus started on the 06's. Problem with going to that set-up would probably be getting it communicate with the earlier cluster and keeping all other function's working?
