Water pump taking a poo

Went to check my oil yesterday a saw a wet spot on the water pump itself. So I started it up backed it up so I could get under it an you can see where water is seeping thru the spots where the water pump itself bolts up an then right in the middle of water pump locatin it has a lite stream run down to where the crank pulley is. Kinda pisses me off cause I had that replaced when we did my cam swap which was a little less than 3 years an 21k miles ago so I'm debating on getting an new oem waterpump an spending the extra money.

I would really like to do a radiator too I have a feeling that's not far behind

Parts are not made like they use to be sad to say! Get an OEM or a good aftermarket one (gates of possible) and keep receipt.

53021380BB is the part number. I didn't have one in stock or I would have checked to see if it comes with the seal. I did make a call to another dealership that had one and they confirmed that it indeed does come with the seal.

No problem at all. It's pretty slow this time of year and I was in need of something to pass the time!

Sounds like Mario's is leaking from the gasket (more like an O-ring), I thought the shaft seal is what normally goes.

The only problem with the OEM one was it cost 3x as much as the $85 dollar aftermarket I put in. Being the OEM was weeping slightly at 85-90,000 miles I figured I'd try the Chinese. Almost 10,000 miles so far so good.

A couple points:

The original waterpump was not seriously leaking- I just got a whiff of hot antifreeze whenever I left the vehicle and it had a dry antifreeze "stain" coming from the weep hole. I take a couple trips a year to the Canadian boonies and I didn't need the worry.

You are buying a lot of part here: the box is the size of a small Volkswagen, this is a big casting with a lot of stuff on it. $240 is probably not too much money for the OEM part if it really is better. Time will tell!
