Valve spring question

I'm putting in a new cam and got a new set of 6.1 valve springs. Theses valve springs have a sleeve on the bottom half. Does anyone know if I can take these sleeves off or do I have to leave them on? It sure would be a lot easier to install if I could take them off.

Valve spring question

16 "exhaust" valve springs --
It would best to leave them on. If you remove them you would need shims and spring locaters to make up for the dampeners.
