Thrown rod

Got a 5.7 with a thrown rod everything looks OK from the bottom and even the cylinder, it did however destroy the oil pan gasket which is nothing but from the opposite cylinder it's got water coming out from under or beside the piston. My question is should I rebuild or get another engine or if someone has had a similar problem.

J would pull it apart and inspect everything closely. Maybe a good time for a stroker if the block is still good.

Welcome to HTC! Pull it out pull it apart and have a look if it looks ok then have a machine shop put a nice hone on it and stock rebuild it or stroke it!

Right I am only guessing what the head looks like I've only got the oil pan off but it's my first hemi so I'm seeing the ideas but yeah it's feeling like just a rebuild .

As long as the machine shop has a very close look at it. I went through two block before we finally received a usable block. The one was extremely hard to see, it had a tiny crack on the oil pan rail.
Good luck!

That could be your best option, just check the used replacement real good, make sure it hasn't been patched up for resale. Good luck.
