The Dealership Wants To Clean The Fuel Injectors?

Seems I am rolling 30,000 miles, or close to it and the dealership would like to do the whole-shamoly. I green-lighted them to do the vital fluid change (Transmission, front and rear differentials, transfer case & spark plugs - there goes my shot at my first badge).

Of course, they wanted to do a fuel injector cleaning. That involves throttle body, pressurized cleaning fluids, cleaning the deposits on the valves and other mumbo-jumbo at having to adjust this here or that there. At 30,000 miles, how vital is it to be concerned with the fuel injectors? The only real plus I would see in having this done is "IF" it would help my mileage and performance...Right at the moment I have the dealership on limbo concerning this maintenance. Is there any reason to have this done this soon?

food for thought.... i just rolled 130,000 miles, and have NEVER done "their" fuel injector cleaning. I use Seafoam about every 6000K (at each oil change). Had the heads off at 115K for a cam install... and there was very little buildup of carbon... but i was also @ that 6000K mark for an oil change and fuel treatment.... so even the little that was present, would have soon been removed.

You can also clean the TB yourself!! Just go to any auto parts store they should have a can of TB cleaner for a couple bucks.. The TB has only 4 bolts!

Isn't there some sort of smog devices, attached to the TB, that needs adjusting after the cleaning? At least that's the jist of what I understood from the service manager. I've done dozens of carburetors, but never a TB.

Don't clean that Throttle body with anything other than Brake Parts Cleaner. Soak a lint free cloth and scrub away. Reach what you can inside the manifold while your at it. Carb /TB cleaner is not to be used.
