Jay, have you ever machined the intake valve deeper into the cylinder head? To allow less cutting into the piston for valve clearance notches. The valve tips would have to be shortened too?

A sunk valve would be detrimental to air flow, and there's just so much so much you will gain before there's rocker arm to retainer contact. Also spring height would have to be corrected. Did you ever check valve to piston clearance on the motor?

Yes I did. But, shouldn't I have used a solid roller lifter Jay? Or will the stock lifters be fine?

Would there be more clearance to the piston if I install stainless steel 2.00 intake valves Jay?

The reason I asked Jay. There is a ring that protrudes down from the bottom of the stock intake valve. I don't see that on the stainless steel valves.

What was the clearance? A solid lifter would be more accurate.

Most likely not. You have to measure the valve, from the top of the seat, to the top of the valve. If you find one thinner, that would help.

.275 to.280 with no cylinder head gasket, using Play-Doe. The intake lifter wasn't pumped up with oil.

Are SRT8 lifters a solid lifter Jay?

IF, your figures are any where near correct, your valve pockets could be at least .150 thicker!
