NEW Motoblue pully w/balancer

Anyone have any idea if the new Motoblue pully with the built in harmonic balancer is going to be safe to run? Looks like the new improved version adresses the issues with the first ones onthe market ( toner ring failure ). If this new version is OK I may try one out. At $230.00 it is fairly expensive but may be worth it in the long run. The new unit is SFI approved if that means anything. The first version of it has really scared me away from using the UD pulley. ANy thoughts????

i would be surprised if the RAM/LX Hemi market ever picked back up for them... to many horror stories, due to lack of design/testing on their 1st release.

For that price, why not go for the ATI, and know your protected.

The ATI is 5% UD and that is basically worthless unless you are using it for other reasons. The Motoblue is 20% and would make a difference.

I would hate to be the first to try thses.

I agree that a 20% UD is needed to make any real difference............BUT....is it worth the risk...i will wait for a year and then buy one.

I ran a Motoblue (original design) 20% for about two months (before hearing all the horror stories). I only noticed my alternator charging suffering a little.. Maybe there was a "little" off idle increase, but not enough to justify the cost IMHO.

i ran across a thread on lxforums today, theres a vendor called frank racing who just developed and 8% underdrive pulley for the 5.7/6/1's for $199 i believe it was. that might be worth checking out.
