Mod weekend

It's been a LONG time since I've done any type of mods on my truck...cleaning out shed yesterday I found a viper fan (dc controller) and a smaller transcooler that I've wanted to install a long while back...

mutilated my fan shroud so I could still use stock reservoirs for now...

I've been running a Taurus efan for years so when another member traded his truck in for a Challenger he said I could have any mods that I want if I can help him get his truck ready for a trade in , although I like the Taurus, when I'm in stop and go traffic my coolant temps rise and makes me uncomfortable to watch..lol

In town traffic I turn my fan on and leave it on during summer. It'll keep the engine around 193. Otherwise it continues to swing 203 to 190 with the fan cycles. I've used a flex-lite fan for many years only requiring the controller to be replaced.

maybe its a cooler day today but I decided to take the "normal" commute that I usually take with my other cars because it involves stop and go traffic on a freeway grade (with truck I normally take a bypass, it's longer but there is no traffic)… I watched my aero gauge and it got no warmer than 183 during the stop an go portion of the drive...Bill (the previous owner, said he had the controller set to come on @195 which is his thermostat temp)...but I noticed after installing yesterday and running on driveway that it started spinning at 177 and ramped up from there (which is my preference)...I didn't hook up the ignition wiring so everything is automatic (stays on for a couple minutes after I shut down). Greg, I may go back to the switch setup like yours because as it gets colder, no need to have it running full on. We'll see how she runs when driving home today when the day is much warmer.
