How much horsepower can you throw at a 6.1 OEM timing set. Are there good alternatives?

I am running a pretty much stock timing set for the most part to over 800 crank lol I know I should swap to a dual chain setup for safety

Do NOT buy the double roller setups from Manley, Engine Pro, or SA Gear. SA Gear actually makes it for all of them. They will not hold up for very long. Chain stretches something terrible, reluctor wheel will come off, and various issues The stock set will handle a lot.
Howards has good stuff so I would love to see some pics oldmanram. I'm curious who makes the chain for them. IWIS is one of the best brand chains you can get. Curious if they have a torrington bearing on the cam gear and if it's adjustable as well. Please post details and cost. Thanks

I have not used the Howards unit. I hope it's not made by SA Gear. Howards usually has high quality parts but they don't actually make everything so hopefully they made this one

The ones I've used have been double roller and oem link. For pure strength I would think oem link would be hard to beat.
