hemi tick GONE.. officially

this was posted by Gadier/383hemi over at dodgetalk.com good information man.

Like many in the Modern Hemi Community, I've had the "Hemi Tick" since the day I bought the truck back in May 2004. Seems like every time I modded the motor it got just a little more noticeable. Headers, metal intake tube, valvetrain upgrades, ext....... Figured it was just what the Hemi did, tick, tick and tick.

After an indepth discussion with Stu about his custom pushrod options we decided to swap out the exhaust side pushrods. We went from the Manley 7.850" pushrod to a custom 7.875" pushrod. Immediately the valvetrain ticking went away. I can't remember my motor ever being so quite.....ever.

Here is a good thread about pushrod selection:

Keep in mind what Stu said. Valve train tick, not the famous Hemi tick.

no ticking here with 6.1 manley rods, but you can't beat the michigan based Trend rods either.
