It is exactly the reason that I do not follow Nascar.

Exclamation

I still enjoy NASCAR but long for the days of the unrestricted big block, non-restrictor plate - run what you brung days of thunder (hitting over 200 MPH in the 70's) on the oval super speedways .

the Kicker is the P7 heads are very close to the SB2/RO7s and they still cried when a Dodge one.

Dieter Zetsche gave a speech in 02 at Chrysler @Carlise were he talked about Chrysler always complaining about being regulated out of different racing sanctions, He said , he always thought it was a "Cry Wolf thing, you know we can't beat them so we will blame them scenario"....then the Neon gets outlawed by WRC, team Orca gets Outlawed by FIA, Nascar comes down on our New Head designed, says we have to run with these specs, the Viper V10 is regulated out of American le-mans and they have to run 7.0 liters V-8....and lets not get in to the NHRA Circus regarding Pro Stock(I'm paraphrasing what he said) but yet Find a Top Fuel or Funny Car with a Ford or Chery derived engine ..we may have lost the everyman battle in racing but slayed the completion in the ultimate Horse power war.

I was joking to my old lady when I said watch they're probably apache based head castings...then I clicked on it lol, go figure. Minus the dry sump oiling, the distributor and ability to use a mechanical fuel pump makes that engine a damn near straight retrofit drop in to an old car.
