Hey guys, a budy is in the middle of a cam install in an 05, he dropped the oil pump bolt in pan an he heard it clunk down into pan, then, we used a flexible magnet and it ended up coming off the end...so now it looks like wer pulling the pan off (he does have a new windage tray)...so its been awhile, unbolt all pan bolts and pry off? What else needs to happen to drop pan...thanks in advance..
When I last pulled the pan. I removed the starter and the U brace from the trans. I didn't have to lift the engine. I just removed what was necessary to get to the pan bolts...
update...he was able to fish it out with a magnet i lent him. So he put it back together and was able to start it but can't keep it running (2 footin it)...Jay sent him an upgraded tune and still the same (that was before yesterday). So he lives on my way home from work so I stopped by to give him a 2nd pair of eyes. Made sure battery had a decent charge, made sure it was getting amps when he started and held it. Attached my reader to fit and the fuel trims actually looked good (under 10's both ways) while he was footin it. That's when I noticed the lightning bolt on dash...I asked if he had another tb and he had a new one..installed it, started right up and actually sounded right, with a lope too...hehe. His eyes lit up and we were both excited that we now have a working hemi...hehe. I told him to start logging an have Jay tweak anything else...but he's good to go now
