I don't know if mine got better with mileage or with mods. I usually got between 14.2ish and 15.0 stock, brand new. I usually get about 16 mpg now.

I think that is rather common. I filled today, overhead was showing 19.7, but hand calculated it was at 18.4. And yes, I think your milage will go up as the motor gets more miles on it. I'm at 18,000 on my '07.

First: Denyguy - I have found that on my 04QC, the overhead is right on, with stock tires.

Second: Hemi317 - Quote: " I think your milage will go up as the motor gets more miles on it." let me say, the first year I had my 04QC, 2500 4x4, I got avg. 15 around town and 18.5 highway. As the 2nd year started, it dropped to 11 & 14.7. It's never gotten better & nobody can tell me why it dropped! You have any ideas?

my overhead stays between 16.5 and 17.5 mpg, when you do the math it's usually between 15 and 16 depending how well your right foot behaves.....

I've been doing some test for the last 3000 miles or so and found out that the overhead reading is only "right" if i use the right fuel EX:
87 tuning on S C
89 octane reds high
87 octane slightly high
87 w 10% eth. really close ( she loves that gas)
91 tuning
87 octane don't even think about it
89 really close ( i like this one)
91 is the most accurate one but still not dead on
93 not tested yet, i wont be using it anyway
My opinion is, if it's reading 1+ mpg higher than your calculations your engine is not being efficient and is using more fuel than it should
Now i really like the performance on 91 tuning using 89 octane and the knock retard reads lower than 87 tuning 87 octane (if that means something) , runs very smooth and strong and does great mileage too I'm to think this is the best setup for my engine does anybody try that yet?
