early 5,7L block(2003-2008) max stroke?

Rebuilding a early 5,7l hemi engine and found a K1 crankshaft with 4.080” stroke but unsure if it fits in the early 5,7l blocks?

That much stroke make be an issue and won’t really like the higher rpm ranges for safety

at 7000rpm its still under 25m/s piston speed(24,18m/s = 79.333333fps), im ok with that rod ratio goes down to 1.5 ish thou... but even with a 3.795" stroke its 1.61.

I'm running the K1 4.080 crank but have never spun it above 6500. I bought it from Wiseco as a kit with pistons and rods.

so it do fit the 5,7l block then, neat!

the follow-up question is if the OEM chain is the most durable or if theres any stronger?

Just had this discussion this morning with my engine builder. Our conclusion is oem is the strongest. If the cam needs adjusting you can use chevy offset bushings.

4.25 Cranks will fit also with some work, the bad thing is the last Oil drain back on the passenger side the passage that joins it to the 2nd to last has to be ground for clearance to the point that you break it open , you have 3 options one is Block it at the head, 2nd is to tap a line off it and run it to the pan, 3rd is to "tube" it which restricts oil flow.

4.250 stroke in a 5.7 3.917 to 3.947 bore. Yikes!
