Let's hear some feedback from those of you already using E fans on your trucks.
It has my interest but to me it has a few drawbacks.
It would be nice to have a few extra horses and a little better MPG.

How about the reliability?
Anyone have any mishaps or costly breakdowns due to fan failure?

I wondered about how the stock alternator does in the summertime with the AC blowing cold all the time and the electric fan cycling on a lot.

I like my fan, but if I had it to do all over again I would have went with a Flex-a-lite Black Magic fan instead of the Viper fan. The Viper Fan puts out tremendous amounts of air and has no problems at all keeping the truck cool. The only downside that I have had is the Flex-a-lite controller that came with my kit. The viper fan pulls alot of power while running. The controller that came with the fan failed after a few months. It got replaced with another unit and so far I have not had any problems with. I am running my fan on the low speed and it is keeping the truck cool. IMHO the Viper fan is overkill unless you live in a very hot area.

installed my Mark VIII fan shortly after i bought my truck, works great and it was almost too easy to install. if i had one complaint it would be that i didn't buy a thermostat with the screw in probe, i got the one you have to stick between the fins of the radiator, the other day i noticed it was coroded (duh steel probe aluminum radiator.... why didn't i think of that before i jammed it in) i remove the probe monthly and grease the probe and opening to slow it down but someday i will have to replace the radiator because of it. that is my fault not the fans, i would install an e-fan again in a heartbeat, but i would buy the thermostat with the thread in probe.

I've had my Black Magic & 180 T-stat on for over a year without any issues. That includes sitting in traffic w/ the A/C on. This includes
VERY HOT days here in Florida. The controler they supplied w/ it works Great!!

I can't complain about the extra horses or fuel mileage either.

That's my $.02 worth.

No trouble after about a year.Easy to install and the truck seems to idle smoother.
